Department: Karnes County Sheriff Office

Reports to: Karnes County Sheriff

Salary: $50,000 annually, plus benefits and uniform allowance

License/Certifications required:

• Level IV Security Guard License
• Valid Texas Driver License

Conditions of Employment:

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must successfully complete physical and psychological examination.
• Must successfully complete a background investigation.

Karnes County Grant Administrator

Department: Grants Administration

Reports to: Karnes County Judge

Salary: $50,000 annually / $24.04 hourly

Karnes County is hiring for a Grant Administrator position that will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, preparing grant applications, securing grants of all types, and assisting in the management of approved grants.

Education & Experience:

• GED or HS Diploma is required
• Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration preferred
• Preferred experience in financial management, budgeting, and preparing/monitoring federal and state grants.

KARNES COUNTY ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATION:  Deputy Clerk/Voter Registrar

 Job Type: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Pay: $40,000 – Hourly: $19.23

Reports to: Elections Administrator

This position requires a flexible schedule that is regularly Monday through Friday but may require some evening and weekend hours.  It requires working more than 40 hours during the election seasons.  It requires the knowledge of maps and county streets to update and maintain the voter registration software systems.  Requires proficiency in the use of various computer software programs including Excel.  This position assists the Elections Administrator with administrative clerical duties as needed.  Must be able to work alone as well as with co-workers.  Must be able to multi-task.
