KARNES COUNTY COVID COURT OPERATIONS

The above link includes all the guidelines that Karnes County courtrooms are currently implementing.

If you are attending court in Karnes County please follow these guidelines:

Wear a mask at all times, if you don't have a mask we will provide one for you

Keep a distance of 6 feet from others

Temperature screenings will be conducted before you are allowed to enter the courtroom

Hand sanitizer and tissues will be available for everyone to use


CRIMINAL CASES :

Defendants will receive a court date when released from the Karnes County Jail.

All Defendants are required to update their address and phone number with the County Clerk.

Defendants are required to attend all court dates. Defendants must be appropriated dressed. No shorts, no inappropriate clothing, no piercings other than ears, and no hats will be allowed in the Courtroom.

All persons entering the Karnes County Courthouse are subject to search and no contraband, weapons of any kind (including pocket knives and nail clippers) will be allowed.

Failure to attend any scheduled hearing can result in a warrant and a new charge by the County Attorney for Failure to Appear.

All documents must be filed electronically pursuant to the EFILE rules and

All Last Will & Testament documents must filed with the County Clerk within 72 hours of the Application being on file.
