---HOLIDAY CLOSURE UPDATE--- All county offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026 in observe of the Martin Luther King Holiday. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. --- FOOD BANK UPDATE --- The next Food Bank distribution will take place on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the Karnes County Youth Showbarn. Gates will open at 8:00 AM and line-up cutoff will be at 10:00 AM (subject to change). ---BURN BAN NOTICE---Due to dry weather conditions, Karnes County is in a burn ban until further notice.

They are governed by the provisions of the Public Information Act (http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/GV/pdf/GV.552.pdf), Texas Government Code, Chapter 552.

    Please note the Public Information Act does not require governmental bodies to create new information, perform legal research, or to answer questions. The request must ask for records or information already in existence. Karnes County will respond within ten (10) business days to information requests.
