Conditions of Employment:

• Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must successfully complete physical and psychological examination.

Karnes County Grant Administrator

Department: Grants Administration

Reports to: Karnes County Judge

Salary: $50,000 annually / $24.04 hourly

Karnes County is hiring for a Grant Administrator position that will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, preparing grant applications, securing grants of all types, and assisting in the management of approved grants.

Education & Experience:

• GED or HS Diploma is required
• Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration preferred
• Preferred experience in financial management, budgeting, and preparing/monitoring federal and state grants.

KARNES COUNTY ELECTIONS ADMINISTRATION:  Part-time Elections Clerk

 Job Type: Part Time (20 hours per week – except during election season hours will vary)

Pay: $20,000 – Hourly: $19.23

Reports to: Elections Administrator

This position requires a flexible schedule and will report to the Elections Administrator.  The applicant must be able to work various hours during election season and not take off work during election season.  
Requires some 13-hour workdays on voting days and some weekend hours.  No vacation time is permitted during election season.  May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency.  Per TEC Chapter 31: must be a qualified voter of the State and may not be a candidate for a public office or an office of a political party, hold public office, or hold an office of or a position in a political party.  Must be able to perform duties in a non-partisan manner.  Must meet and abide by any and all requirements set forth in the Texas Election Code.  Must be able to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling confidential records.  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in stressful situations.  Requires ability to operate office machines such as telephone, computers, copiers and scanners.  Skilled in use of Microsoft programs. Responsible for the election polling location preparation of election supplies and voting equipment. Must be an active listener and give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asking questions as appropriate.  Must have ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.  Must have own vehicle with insurance and valid driver’s license.  Travel between various polling locations across Karnes County as required.  Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.  Previous Elections experience is preferred.

Job Type: Part-Time/Summer

Pay Scale: $12.00 per hour

Library/Summer Aide job may include but is not limited to assisting with all aspects of the summer reading program, performing circulation desk procedures, assisting patrons with use of public computers, shelving library materials, assisting with crafts/activities, and light cleaning.
